The CCXC Falcons Running Log is a private training tool for the CCXC Falcons cross country team — for athletes to record their workouts and for the coaching staff to support them. This page explains what we collect, how it's used, and how we keep athlete communication transparent and safe.
What we collect
- Account info — name, email address, an optional profile photo, and (optionally) which team you run for (Boys/Girls) so standings are accurate.
- Training data — runs you log (distance, time, pace, workout type, perceived effort/RPE, and your notes) and cross-training (activity type, minutes, effort, notes).
- Messages — comments exchanged between an athlete and the coaching staff on a workout.
How we use it
Only to run the team training log: tracking each athlete's training, building the team leaderboard, and letting coaches give feedback. We do not sell or share your data, there is no advertising, and there are no third-party trackers.
Who can see what
- Athletes see their own training and the team leaderboard. (A coach can hide an athlete from the leaderboard on request.)
- Coaches and the administrator can see every athlete's training log and may comment on workouts.
- Comments are visible to the entire coaching staff — never private to a single coach.
Athlete safety & communication
This app is built with youth-sport safety in mind. Communication between coaches and athletes is designed to be transparent and observable by other adults:
- No private one-to-one messaging between a single coach and an athlete. All coach–athlete communication in the app is visible to the whole coaching staff.
- No athlete-to-athlete messaging.
- Messages and comments are retained so they can be reviewed if needed.
- Coach access is granted only by the team administrator — not self-assigned.
Parents and guardians may request to review their athlete's data and communications, or ask that an account be removed, at any time by contacting the administrator below.
How it's secured
The app runs on Google Firebase. Access requires signing in, and server-enforced security rules ensure athletes can only see their own data while coach access is limited to approved staff.
Keeping, correcting & deleting data
Training data is kept for the season/program so progress can be tracked over time. To correct your information or request that an athlete's account and data be deleted, contact the administrator. Removing an athlete from the team revokes their access.
Children's privacy
This is a closed, team-only tool. Accounts are created and approved through the coaching staff, and the app is intended for use by CCXC Falcons team members with their parents'/guardians' awareness.
